Research: Research and Databases

VVS subscribes to numerous databases.  Newspaper, encyclopedia, and magazine articles can be found within the databases as well as images, music, and sound. You will need the school password to login. We use the same password for all of our databases, which is located in your student planner. If you do not know the password, reach out to Mrs. Austin by email (aaustin@vvsschools.org) or come visit the library.  

Some of the databases you can use are:

• World Book Encyclopedia and Britannica Encyclopedias
• Spanish versions of World Book and Britannica
• Newsbank and News-O-Matic (for newspaper articles)
• Soundzabound (for copyright free music and sounds)
• Britannica Images (for copyright free images)
• Proquest and Gale in Context (for magazine and news articles)
• SIRS and Opposing Viewpoints for pro/con issues
